Just a quickie this time, barbeque season is upon us and I haven't got a patio let alone a barbeque! Hence, I'm on a tight schedule to get concrete the garden. I'm thinking of the opportunity to put Dennis "the menace" McKernon underneath it!! I was highly honoured for our Tuesday better ball as the great Paul Benham asked me to partner him for the day. Paul and myself started playing golf around the same time a couple of years ago, but Paul is by far a more natural golfer, I had the misfortune to draw him on last years match play knockout competition and got slaughtered! This time though he was on my side, and we made the most of it, I contributed mostly to the front nine, but Paul came through like a champ on the back and between the two of us we came off with a pretty good score of 43 points. Not bad considering the temperatures were as high as 35 ºC yet again! Unfortunately for us, Dennis May and one of our 5 guests Danny Matson playing off 23 and 22 respectively, also came off with 43 points but beat us by 1 on the back nine to take the glory.

  Paul Benham did however get a prize for nearest the pin on the 4th, and another guest Keith Hughes took nearest the pin on the 15th. Not content with that, Paul Benham and yet another guest Kevin McEvatt, shared the money for the sweepstake! Shame Paul didn't have such luck on the course! Nobody got a 2, so it meant it was a rollover to our next game.

  Don’t forget our next event is on Tuesday, 19th July. Tee times are from 10.40 am followed by Tuesday 2nd August.
