The placements for the 09.11.04 were as follows

playing off a handicap of 24 (now 23)
35 points, 14 on front 9, 21 on back 9
3rd Jo McKernon
playing off a handicap of 13 (not docked)
35 points, 15 on front 9, 20 on back 9

  It was the first rainy day of golf day we’ve had all year! We did have a drenching in May, but that was only the last 2 groups as they were finishing their last couple of holes. It didn’t dampen our spirits though. A total of 26 played, with 8 guests joining us for the day. Despite the weather, we still had great scoring and 2 of our members ended up in a card play-off for 2nd place. The society as usual organized a nearest the pin competition on the 7th and 15th par 3 holes, along with a “2’s” competition and a sweepstake for the winner.

  Getting shots back this week were Joan Roaden, now playing off 28, and Tony Fawcett now playing off 11.

  Guest winner this week was Stuart Lane playing off a handicap of 9 with a score of 37 points, 20 on front 9, 17 on back 9.

   
  Nearest the pin on the 7th was won by Jo McKernon, and the 15th was won by Dermott Haughian. The sweepstake was won by Dennis May who got his days golf for free! The 2’s competition was a rollover from the week before and was won by guest Clive Bleasedale for a birdie on the 7th, he won himself a fantastic 124 Euro!
  Out of our 8 guests this event, 6 of them got scores within 8 shots of their handicap, pretty impressive on the first time playing such a tough course. Maybe it was the rain that made them feel at home!!
