As usual, on the2nd Sunday of the month, we play a fun competition, this month we played a 4 ball better ball in teams of 2. As the people who live in Fuerteventura know, we’ve been having very high winds for the last week (surfin’ championships coming up) so it was quite a challenge playing the course on such a windy day. However, it was a better ball competition, so you have 2 chances to score on the hole. If you don’t do so well on the hole, hopefully your partner will do the honours for you. This is how it worked for our winners, Rob Hughes and his guest, Steve Lowe. Individually they played ok, but when one didn’t score on a hole, the other did. Their combined score came to 40 points, just beating guests Jo and Dennis McKernon with 38 points. Our next Sunday fun day will be August 8th where we’ll play a Texas Scramble. Incidentally, nobody got a 2 on the par 3’s, so once again it’s a rollover for our next society game.
