As I’ve said many times, the first game after a cup day is always a quiet event, well this one broke all records, there were only 7 of us altogether and 3 of them were guests! So we just had a knock putting in a few euros for the front 9, back nine and overall winner & 2nd place. It was a beautiful day, shame more weren’t there to enjoy it, but as ever, some were golfed out, some away to the UK for the festive season and even some injuries stopped a few playing!
Despite being in small numbers, our spirits were high, and almost everyone had a good round. Dermott Haughian, a 10 handicapper got off to a flying start and won the front 9 with 19 points, I on the other hand couldn’t hit a ball to save my life for the 1st 4 holes, but managed to pull myself together a bit and get 17 on the front 9, as did Alan Wrigley.

  With a few little strokes of luck, I also managed a good back 9 and scored 19 points making me winner of the back 9 and leaving me tied for 2nd place, but with a card play-off just scraped through on the back 6 holes. The overall winner was Dermott with 38 points so between us we had a pretty good day!
