Just
a quiet event we had on our Sunday comp this week. Normally we’d
play a Texas scramble or similar but it was decided we’d just
have a straight stableford comp for both members and guests combined
with no handicap cuts or similar. Our own Mr President, Derek Mac
was incapacitated after a day and night on the tiles the day before
which left us with just eleven including 5 guests! It was a close
run thing, with regular guest Tony Boardman scoring 34 points and
some other reasonable scores in too, but with no handicap cuts Rob
Hughes from the Kings Arms in Caleta pulled out
all the stops and won with 36 points. Rob incidentally also beat
Derek Mac in his plate competition game on the following
Tuesday 3 and 2, maybe Derek was still hungover!
Don’t forget our next event is Tuesday, 25th
October. Tee times are from 10.30 am followed by games
on Tuesday 8th and Sunday 13th November.
