On Sunday 17th October, we played a Texas Scramble in teams
of 2, we only had 6 teams enter, but there was some fantastic golf
played on the day as was reflected in the scores. The winners by
less one shot were husband and wife team, Dennis and Jo McKernon
(who incidentally are to play against each other on the semi-final
of our matchplay competition). They came in with a great score of
68.8 after docking 20% of their combined handicap (6.2shots). In
joint 2nd just 0.6 behind were myself and guest partner Stuart Vickers,
with 69.4 after docking 7.6, and Rob Hughes and guest Steve from
Kings Food who also came in with 69.4 after docking 9.6 of their
combined handicap. My teams playing partners on Sunday were Mike
Scarlett and Noel Mulligan, who managed to get about 3 feet away
from the 1st hole with their 2nd shot, and went on to birdie the
hole.
