Conditions were pretty
favourable, not too windy and plenty of sun. Mike and Annie, Coops
& Derek, Rob & Lol all played a steady back nine getting
18 points, Peter & Michael pulled it back a bit with 17, but
after a birdie on the 10th from Paul worth 4 points, a par on the
11th from Rosie worth 4 points, pars on the 12th & 13th from
Paul the game looked to be sewn up! This only drove me and my brother
Steve on, trying to keep up with Paul & Rosie was no mean feat.
Basically it was like playing matchplay, we were neck and neck after
pulling a point back on the 14th. Thankfully for us, pars on the
15th and 16th put our team 2 shots ahead with just a couple of holes
to play. But there was no let up from Paul and Rosie, we were pushed
to the end with both teams scoring 21 on the back 9. This meant
that Paul and Rosie scored a total of 38 points as did Annie &
Mike, but with a total of 40 victory was to go to the Brown Brothers!
My brother Steve, Paul and myself also played a game a few days
later, but that’s another story! Don't forget our next event is the Captains Cup on Tuesday, 14th March. Tee times are from 10.00 am followed by games on Sunday 19th & Tuesday 28th March.
