After the enormity of Captains day, Sunday 20th was a relatively quiet day. It was however, a very high scoring day, and an absolute scorcher! We held a Stableford competition with nearest the pins on the par 3's, 7th and 15th as well as the usual 2's comp and 50 euro sweepstake for the winner. Despite the fact that there was very little wind, nobody managed a 2 or a birdie on the 17th, so they are both rolled over to Tuesday 29th March, but nearest the pins were won by our President Derek Mac on the 7th, and vice-president Phil Richards on the 15th who also won the sweepstake! Well, it can only be said that our winner had a lucky escape by only having 2 shots docked from his handicap, after coming in with a massive 43 points! Paul Benham, of Estrella del Mar apartments in Corralejo, puts his win down the bottle of Jack Daniels he won at the Captains dinner on Tuesday past! (see pic below).
Also an impressive
39 points was scored by runner-up Joan Roaden (docked 1 shot). You

winner was on Sunday was John Cockroft, who has the Golf-in-Fuerteventura
website, a nice fella.
A final reminder also of our away day trip to Lanzarote
(Sunday April 17th) cost including green fees, buggy, transport
to & from the course and a bite to eat afterwards is 100 euro. The
2-day competition at Solobre Golf course in Gran Canaria
(26-27th July) will cost around 200 euro, which includes
flights, 2 rounds of golf, buggy and a night in a 4 star hotel including
breakfast. There are limited places for both these events so it
