It was a fairly windy day and the sun was beating down.
Yes, it looks like summer is upon us. Tee times have been moved
forward to 10.30am, not only to accommodate our growing numbers,
but also to enable us to finish a little earlier.
As the greens were being dressed on the back nine of
the course, it meant that we had to play the front nine twice on
Tuesday 22nd June. This meant we had to play the dreaded 2nd hole
twice, but meant we had two cracks of the whip on the nearest the
pins on the 4th and 7th. I very nearly won my own prize on the 7th,
being just less than 3 feet further from the pin than the winner,
Dave Hill!

The 2’s
competition, for a birdie on a par 3, wasn’t won this week,
so will roll over to our next event on Tuesday 6th July. It would
have been won by our Captain, Dave Cooper, who landed within a couple
of feet of the hole on the 4th, but unfortunately he decided to
have a drive-thru McDonalds (and not with a car) on his 1st tee
shot!!!
With a total of 14 members and 5 guests, we had a fabulous day.
Our guest winner was Gary Charnock from Runcorn, Cheshire. Ploaying
of a handicap of 23, he came in with a total of 26 points. The order
of merits for our members were as follows,
Getting shots back this week were Derek Mac, now off
22, and Dennis May now playing off 16.
After the game, we all met up at our new location for
our light refreshments and presentation of prizes. We are now holding
our presentations at Rob Hughes’s new bar in Caleta de Fuste,
The Kings Arms. A larger venue than his old bar, The Blue Moon.

for a few days. Amongst other things, we are adding a leaderboard
page, so you can see how everyone is doing over the year, as well
as checking out the latest eclectic scores and player of the year
stats.

& a four ball better ball in teams of 2 on Sunday 11th
July. Tee times are from 10.30 am.
