After the usual last minute changes to the line up, 23 of us including 3 guests set off in the blazing sun to try our best to rip up the course! By 2pm the temperatures had reached nearly 40ºC, higher than our winning score. Most of the players I spoke to said they had a good front 9 but fell apart a bit on the back 9. It was extremely hot and tiring. The weather didn't affect one persons game though as you'll see in the results below.

In our members' competition, there was a tie for 2nd place. Tony Fawcett and Derek Bailey both came in with 34 points, but on a card play-off by just one point on the back 9, Tony Fawcett playing off a handicap of 11 took the 2nd prize. The winner this week winning by a clear 5 points with 39, was Steed Ansell. I think this is the biggest clear margin win this year. In the nearest the pin comp, closest on the 7th was Derek Bailey and on the 15th was Billy Seaforth (junior). Guest winner this week was a lucky man by the name of Morris Piddington, not only did he win the guest comp he also won the sweep by picking Steed. Morris was very quick to spend his winnings though, within 2 minutes of acquiring his winnings he'd spent it on membership of the society! Also welcoming Bill Seaforth (senior) to the ranks of membership after playing as a guest on many occasions.
