DAYS February |
Hi folks! Sorry it's been a while. Well have we got a lot to catch up on! so I'll do a summary of what's been happening so far. Tuesday 1st February was a much higher scoring game with the winner Tony Fawcett coming in with 38 points, closely followed by Dennis May with 37 points. Guest winner was Denzel Wrigley (Alan Wrigleys son!) with 32 points. There seems to be a pattern emerging with members sons winning guest prizes, who will be next?!! Our game on 15th Feb was cancelled due to the threat of a tropical storm, as it happened the day was ok, but it was good news for me as I was still in the UK and couldn’t make it anyway! Instead it was switched to Sunday 20th Feb. Victorious on this occasion was Pete Thomas with 37 points, with President Derek Mac on his heels with 36 points. Guest winner was Graham Thompson from Newcastle with 32 points (21 on the front 9). Joining us as a new country member this week is Lol Hullet, who caddied for Alvro Salto in the Spanish Open here last year, a warm welcome to you Lol (hope I’ve spelt your name right this time!!)
We have so many new things to offer our members this year, including an away day trip to Lanzarote (Sunday April 17th) and a 2-day competition at Solobre Golf course in Gran Canaria (26-27th July). There are limited places for these events so it will be on a 1st come, 1st served basis. You can contact me on (0034) 620 161360 for details of these events or via email we are now taking deposits. As there have been many changes since last year, and I’ve been away a lot recently, I’m playing catch-up with all the tables etc on the website, nearly there now so be sure to check it out in the next few weeks to see who’s who and how they’re doing so far. Our next events are on Tuesday, 1st March and Captains Cup 15th March. Tee times are from 10.40 am.
